Genelia turns down Bol Bachchan

But, with the latest twist of events Rohit might have to go back over this modus operandi that has often won him critical appreciation. According to the reports it has been said thatthe leading heroine in his upcoming production titled Bol Bachchan, Genelia D'Souza, felt unimportant in the Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan starrer and so, turned down the offer.
According to the grapevine, the maker of comedy films Rohit Shetty was rather shocked by the actress's opting out and made every possible effort to convince her to do the film. However, Genelia, who was to portray Bindiya Goswami's character in the original, was obstinate about not going ahead with the project anymore. A source clarified that while Rohit has had to return to cast another actress, his losses are not much as the movie has not yet gone on floors.

The source also said that if shooting was in course of action, Rohit Shetty would have to re-shoot with Genelia's substitute, which in turn would have increased the cost of the movie in every manner.At least now, producers Ashtavinayak will not have to put up with a opening in their pocket. It was a good chance for Genelia to opt out before the movie went on floors. When asked why she refused to do the movie, one of the source close to her mentioned that the actress read the script and while reading it she felt that she didn't have a very important character to play in Bol Bachchan. However, a buddy of Genelia came to her justification and rubbished these claims.

Source close to her said that her shooting dates are clashing with Navdeep Singh's movie, featuring Abhay Deol. With Genelia giving up her character in the flick, the film fraternity is already abuzz with assumption about her possible substitute. Abhi to star in Puri’s flick

Even prior to Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap hits theaters, actor Abhishek Bachchan has confirmed that he will star in filmmaker Puri Jagannadh's next film titled Businessman. It is supposed to be an action movie with a number of feather moments and foot-tapping music scores. Not unexpectedly, this Bollywood film too, will be produced by AB Corporation.By now it has been declared that Puri, an former associate of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, was so overwhelmed with Abhishek's performance in Mani Ratnam's Yuva that it gave him the inspiration to approach the big star for his movie.

However back to the news, unavailability of dates couldn’t decide the beginning of the shooting.Rumor has it that late in 2010, Puri Jagannadh again approached Abhishek Bachchan. But he was engaged with Abbas-Mustan's Players and Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies And Gentleman, and so production was put on hold. In the meantime, Puri came up with the script of Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. As everything fell into right place, the movie that stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role is now scheduled to release on July 1, 2011 and Businessman with Abhishek is scheduled to start soon in 2012.

When asked about it, Abhishek Bachchan mentioned that Puri is a brilliant filmmaker and he's come up with yet another excellent subject for nobody can say no. Abhishek Bachchan's strong, silent and songless cop's character in Rohan Sippy's upcoming next Dum Maaro Dum just got itself a song. And the music composer for the song is Pritam, who’s been working overnight to get the song ready. As reported, Abhishek Bachchan’s character of the no-nonsense cop in “Dum Maaro Dum” is based on his dear father the Big B's reticent no-nonsense police officer act in Prakash Mehra's ‘Zanjeer’.

According to the sources, it was felt that Abhi's character in the movie was getting too serious. The character needed to be lightened up. So Rohan Sippy, director of the flick decided to shoot a song with Abhishek. When contacted the music composer Pritam Chakraborty, he told that he has been asked to add a song for Abhishek Bachchan in the film. Abhishek won't be lip-syncing the track. But it will be his song only. You will hear the song whenever Abhishek comes on screen. Apparently, there was a big debate to decide if Abhishek's role should actually lip-syncing the song. The interesting point is that in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Zanjeer actors as varied as the superstars of the time Dev Anand, Dharmendra and Shammi Kapoor had said no to the cop's role because he had no songs to sing in themovie.

Prakash Mehra and the writers refused to budge over the song issue. The Big B was the last choice for the role in Zanjeer. But in the case of Dum Maaro Dum, Abhishek Bachchan was the first choice. And the entire team didn't want to dilute his character for any reasons. At the same time it was felt the character needed a bit of music. That's why Pritam was urgently asked to do Abhishek's song. Well! We hope that Dum Maaro Dum would become a successful hit this year!!!

The style icon, Bollywood filmstar and producer Abhishek Bachchan will be working with ace filmmaker Raj Kumar Santoshi in his next venture. Raj Kumar Santoshi's forthcoming film ‘Power’ that stars Amitabh Bachchan (on hold at the moment), the versatile director has now quickly moved to another comedy like Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani.

The untitled movie will feature Abhishek Bachchan in his comic role, opposite the beautiful and sensational actress Katrina Kaif thereby proving all the rumours wrong that they don’t bond well.. Katrina Kaif clarified the matter by mentioning that she had done one of her earliest films “Sarkar” with Abhishek Bachchan. And it was great fun working with the star. Somehow subsequent projects didn't work out. Even then Katrina Kaif had decided whenever she works with him again, but on a romantic subject.

The director have told that he had worked with Amitabh Bachchan before in “Family” and “Khakee”. But for the first time Raj Kumar Santoshi has managed to get a nod from Abhishek’s side to work with him. The director holds the view that Abhishek Bachchan has great comic potential. When Santoshi wrote this script he thought of Junior Bachchan immediately. The untitled bollywood movie will be produced by Raj Kumar Santoshi and will go on the floors early next year.

Being the reason that Abhishek hadn't heard about freedom fighter Surjya Sen nor did he know much about the Chittagong Uprising. Abhi told that because he was put in a European boarding school as a child, and learnt more about European history there than Indian history. However, the actor has decided to catch up on Indian history post this experience. The actor is recieving good feedback for his performance in this one, and feels proud and happy that he got an opportunity to do this movie. Abhishek Bachchan stated that these are his all-time favourite movies and have remained so since his school days. Abishek is ignorant about the Chittagong uprising

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan feels ashamed of being ignorant about the revolution in Chittagong which he says awakened patriotic feeling in him. He essays the role of freedom fighter Surjya Sen in his next film, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, based on the Chittagong Uprising. According to him, he was embarrassed that he really didn’t know about the freedom fighter Surjya Sen when he was offered the role by director Ashutosh Gowariker.

He felt ashamed when he didn’t know anything about Chittagong Uprising as well, he just knew it from his director Ashutosh. Abishek made to clarify that history and learning about culture and past events was one on his favorite subjects during school time. He said he was sent in boarding school in Europe when he was eight so he knows more about European history rather than the Indian History. The actor feels the story of Surjya Sen needs to be told to the people and to the common man on the same breath as Chandrashekar Azad and Bhagat Singh.

He would love to portray Chandrashekhar Azad’s character on-screen if given a chance, which is his favourite patriotic character. The film is based on journalist Manini Chatterjee's book Do and Die: The Chittagong Uprising 1930-34 which showcases the true story of a revolution against British Empire in Chittagong, a district in undivided Bengal back then. The movie is about the group of 56 teenagers influenced by Surjya Da, who risk their lives to fight for freedom and become a part of the revolution.

At the age of 13, these kids decided to fight for the freedom and walked the path of self-sacrifice. Abishek at this age, he said that he was playing, having fun, engrossed in studies and he was surprised to learn about kids who stood up for freedom of the country at such a young age.

The film stars Deepika Padukone as Kalpana Dutta, opposite Abhishek. The film releases on December 3 this year.

Abhishek Bachchan may not be a very good actor but of course this guy is a perfect husband and more than that, he is a perfect son. He just loves his father Amitabh Bachchan and does everything that may please his dad. He compliments and inspires his dad for every little or big move.

On the other hand , the father, Amitabh, is also no less, he does every possible thing for his son Abhishek. Recently Abhishek Bachchan had inspired his father for enacting the character of “Aurav” in the movie Paa. The megastar Amitabh Bachchan was found saying that he is very thankful to God, for the honor and also for the fact that the movie, produced under Abhishek Bachchan and others, has won three more Awards in other categories as well.

Amitabh Bachchan also told that he was a little hesitant in doing that role which was so challenging but it was his son Abhishek Bachchan and director of Paa - R.Balki, who persuaded him for doing the role. The director also said that he had already planned the film in detail. On the other hand, Abhishek just denied to take a “no” as an answer from Amitabh Bachchan.

The residential place of the Bachchans – Jalsa- was full of joy when the news about the National award for best actor in Paa and for the best producer of a Hindi film came in. Both Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were full of joy when they heard the news. Abhishek was not only acting as one of the lead actors in the movie Paa but he was also the main hands-on producer in charge of the film's budget, marketing, and the complete production production of the film.

The actor also got his very first National award for producing the best Hindi film.
This is Amitabh Bachchan’s fourth National award for best actor. His loving son Abhishek Bachchan congratulated his father over the phone and expressed his joy for the award. The sweet dad, Amitabh, received the greetings from his son and then went back to sleep. In fact, the movie Paa was Abhishek Bachchan's first venture into producing films for AB Corp. Ltd, his family company.

About the news of the awards, Abhishek Bachchan said that the first person he called was, naturally, hisson, referring to Mr Bachchan’s makeover as his son in Paa where he acted as Abhishek’s son and Vidya Balan acted as Amitabh’s mother.. Abhishek also added that as a producer he tried to make sure that everyone working for them was comfortable and happy.

The 57th National Awards were announced on the evening of Septemeber 15, 2010. The award for the Best Actor was bagged by Big B, the renowned and legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. This award has been given to him for his role in the movie Paa.

This movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya balan and others. For those who do not know , let us tell you that in the movie Paa, Abhishek Bachchan had played the role of a father for his son – Aurav. Aurav was played by Amitabh. Now Abhishek Bachchan has commented that he feels like a “proud father” after his dad, Amitabh Bachchan got the National Award for best actor for “Paa”. Well that's something we haven't heard before. Abhishek thinks he is being constantly watched. Well Abhi, the reason you're being watched is because you're so damn cute (did we mention handsome too?!).

Abhishek wishes to be a dad of two kids!

Abhishek Bachchan recently repeated his desire of having two kids from Aishwarya Rai, his wife. And the reason why I have written the word “repeated” here is that Abhishek had unveiled the similar desire an year ago. Though there are no signs of any “good news” yet but Abhishek said that he feels a little uncomfortable when asked about when he and Aishwarya would have kids.

Abhishek Bachchan revealed his discomfort for this question in the September issue of GQ magazine. But happily the actor also said that he would love to have two kids. The actor said that he will be happy with two kids. As he has got him and his sister so may be this is where it comes from, added Abhishek. The actor who recently shared the on-screen space with Aishwarya Bachchan in Raavan, said that kids are blessings of God and it should just happen as and when. He said that he is against the whole thing of "Let's plan it".

Race 2 – Abhishek in, Saif out ?

The latest buzz of Bollywood is that the shoot of the movie Race 2 will begin soon. But what is surprising is that according to the sources, Saif Ali Khan will not be there in this sequel. It has been said that Saif has walked out of this movie because of his tight and busy schedule.

So who is the lucky one to replace chote nawab? Well he is another nawab, I mean junior Bachchan, i.e. Abhishek Bachchan. Yes, if sources have to be believed then Abhishek Bachchan will be replacing Saif Ali Khan in Race 2. The star cast of Race included Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif while the sequel Race 2 will have Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and John Abraham . Ramesh Taurani is the producer for Race 2 and the movie will be directed by Abbas Mustan.

As far as Saif Ali Khan’s busy schedule is concerned, well the actor is busy with his home production movie, ‘Agent Vinod. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan is presently busy with Abbas Mustan’s ‘Italian Job’ remake film.

Abhi- Aish not to attend screening of Raavan at Venice Film Festival

The earlier reports said that the Bollywood release Raavan by the filmmaker Mani Ratnam will be screened at the prestigious and respectful 67th Venice Film Festival. It was also said that the hot couple of Aishwarya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will mark their presence over there.

But the recent reports state that both of them would not be able to attend this event.
The reason behind why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will not be able to attend the screening of their movie Raavan is that they have prior promises to their brand endorsements and the stars have to fulfill them. As far as the festival is concerned, it will begin on September 1, 2010 and it will showcase the Tamil and Hindi versions of the film Ravanan and Raavan.

A source close to the matter said that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are unable to attend this Venice Film Festival because their earlier commitments clash with the same dates as the festival. Aishwarya is the brand ambassador of Longines and Abhishek Bachchan is for Omega.
