With just one month to go in the completion of the first quarter of the year 2009, Bollywood is still to see a real hit. However, flops have grossed a lot of money. Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor starrer Delhi 6 is a flop nevertheless, but it is outshining superstars acts this year.
Akshay Kumar Deepika Padukone’s 2009 debacle CC2C and SRK productions Billu have been outshined by Delhi 6 in money collection entering in its fifth week. So those who boasted of these films as amongst the Top-5 revenue generating films of 2009 please reconsider the fact that it is not so anymore.
Likeable and successful films like Raaz, Dev D, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE have not been able to cross 30crores mark , something which CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA did early this year and DELHI 6 has managed to do last week.
In fact DELHI 6 is managing a decent run for itself as yet.It has already near 30 crore mark pushing aside the biggest money spinner CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA was wearing till a week earlier.
So for Abhishek Bachchan, it is a smile worthy moment, to see a film of his occupy a top slot when it comes to box office performances of Bollywood films as 2009 moves into its second quarter.
