The 57th National Awards were announced on the evening of Septemeber 15, 2010. The award for the Best Actor was bagged by Big B, the renowned and legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. This award has been given to him for his role in the movie Paa.


This movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya balan and others. For those who do not know , let us tell you that in the movie Paa, Abhishek Bachchan had played the role of a father for his son – Aurav. Aurav was played by Amitabh. Now Abhishek Bachchan has commented that he feels like a “proud father” after his dad, Amitabh Bachchan got the National Award for best actor for “Paa”. Abhi even imitated the signature monkey dance from the movie Paa.

The movie Paa has Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of a progeria patient. This disease causes premature ageing among children. Abhishek played Amitabh’s dad while Vidya Balan was in the role of Big B’s mother on screen. That is why Abhi further added that his son just won the National Award for his performance in ‘Paa’!! The movie Paa has won four national awards.
