Abhishek's experience with Mani Ratnam

Bollywood super star Abhishek Bachchan has worked with Mani Ratnam in his three movie, Yuva, Guru and Ravaan. Abhishek said his dad keeps pulling his leg, but he has kept working with his favorite directors in his acting career.


Abhishek was shooting in the jungles for Ravaan, but Abhishek was much concern about his wife who has performed some of the most dangerous stunts ever done by a female actress.

He is proud to be Aishwarya’s husband, she is very brave and strong. But Mani Ratnam won’t allow him to do anything unsafe. Ravaan is the most difficult film, he has ever done in his life. it was challenging for both the couples. Abhishek said that Ravaan is more magical than Yuva and Guru and working with Mani Ratnam is one of the great opportunities in life.

Abhi with his family watches Aish performing in Delhi

Abhishek and his family were in the capital this week to watch Aishwarya Rai performing at NDTV's unveiling of The Seven Wonders of India.

Abhishek, clad in a black formal suit, sported a new clean-shaven look. The actor said it was for a new movie Ravana, a trilingual film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi directed by Mani Ratnam.

Ravana, starring Abhishek and Aishwarya, is a contemporary interpretation of the epic Ramayana, in which, according to media reports, Abhishek, the hero, plays a Ravana-like character who kidnaps Aishwarya, another man's wife, to avenge his sister's humiliation. Abhishek hides with her in the jungle, and the couple end up falling in love.



At the function, Aishwarya performed with Shiamak Davar and troupe for nearly an hour showcasing the colours, heritage and popular music of India.

Abhi provisions screen space with Ash again

Top cinematographer Rajiv Menon captured some really beautiful moments between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan in Mani Ratnam's Guru. Now Rajiv is all set to direct Bollywood's most talked about couple in his next film.

The South based cinematographer confirmed the news. "Yes...Abhishek and Aishwarya are starring in my next directorial venture titled Dhun. It's a film where music plays a very important role. The film goes on floors sometime in June this year."

Quiz him on rumours that the film is similar to the Amitabh -Jaya Bachchan starrer Abhimaan and he says, "I think Abhishek has already clarified this. There is no similarity except the fact that the characters in my film also play musicians."

The film is being produced by Eros International and Rajiv's good friend and Oscar winner A.R. Rahman would be composing the music for this musical drama. One will have to wait and watch if after the melodious music of Guru, Rahman can once again come up with some interesting Dhun for this film.
