Abhishek Bachchan's Sarkar Raj

According to Ramu, "There were a few vital close-ups of Abhishek that I wanted to add to the film, so before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I re-shot my film, let me quickly clear the air. I think Abhishek excels in silent close-ups. Not too many actors of his generation know how to hold silences on camera. I made him do that in Naach. And I just thought a few tight close-ups would add to the drama in Sarkar Raaj."

According to Ramu, Abhishek has given yet another riveting performance in Sarkar Raaj after Guru.

"I wouldn't even compare the two performances on any level except that intensity that Abhishek brings to both the roles. Abhishek and Aishwarya in Sarkar Raaj will be very different from Guru. And if you ask me, he has gone far beyond what he did in Sarkar "

On Tuesday night Abhishek left for Miami to do what he calls a fun film on the beach. Before that he tried to spend as much time as possible with wife Aishwarya.

In Sarkar Raj, it comes across as drama, treachery, power play and betrayal. In the light of all these emotions, Aishwarya's relationship with Abhishek is treated very unconventionally. Theirs is not a romantic relationship. Not even a hint of it. An eclectic filmmaker, Ramu has made films exactly the way he has desired till now, but his success ratio has never been so abysmal. The non-flattering way in which he is being referred to by the film industry, and even by his former proteges, must surely be hurting Ramu badly.

However, a section of the trade feels that the sequel to his last hit, SARKAR, titled SARKAR RAAJ, is a movie to watch out for.

Sarkar Raj grossed almost Rs. 34 crores in India in its first two weeks and over $1 million in the USA. The Filmfare Magazine (August 2008 issue) and other media declared it to be among the only four hits in the first half of 2008 (along with Race, Jodhaa Akbar and Jannat). However, there were reports in some sections of the media that the movie was an average grosser/flop. The producers retorted that the movie had earned more than the entire grossings of its hit prequel in its first two weeks itself. They also stated that they would not plan a sequel to Sarkar Raj if it itself was not successful.

The performances of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received somewhat mixed reviews, with most critics praising their performances. However, some critics felt Abhishek's intensity was forced and not as natural as it was in Sarkar.

Abhishek Bachchan is a great actor, gave beautiful performnce in Sarkar Raj. His acting skills were shown quite nicely in the film.
