The film,not just about Progeria : Abhishek

Abhishek Bachchan who plays dad to his real life dad Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Paa exclaims that it is a life time opportunity for him.



Talking about the movie,he says that very few actors get a chance to experience what he has and get the opportunity to play father to their own. We are only and perhaps the first actor father-son duo to have played themselves in a role reversal," said the actor

As speculated by most,Abhishek clears everyone doubts and explains that the film does not highlight the disease Progeria,a rare genetic disorder which results in pre ageing rather the film is about the relationship a father and a son share and their sweet moments together even though the genetic disorder is the unique background to the film.

The actor compares Paa with the film "Mili" where his mother and actress Jaya Bachchan suffered from a disease and states this example to illustrate the relevance of the the illness in the movie,that it acts merely as a backdrop.

"There is a family in Kolkata where three children of a family suffer from progeria syndrome. But Balki did not want us to meet them and discuss their condition because it would have been very insensitive and intrusive," Abhishek commented

He concluded that besides being a film that showcases the illness,the movie has a simple,light hearted story to it.
