Genelia turns down Bol Bachchan

His status for over crowding his movies with top listed and enterprise completely male oriented movies has paid off for the most part for flawless Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty. But, with the latest twist of events Rohit might have to go back over this modus operandi that has often won him critical appreciation. According to the reports it has been said thatthe leading heroine in his upcoming production titled Bol Bachchan, Genelia D'Souza, felt unimportant in the Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan starrer and so, turned down the offer.
According to the grapevine, the maker of comedy films Rohit Shetty was rather shocked by the actress's opting out and made every possible effort to convince her to do the film. However, Genelia, who was to portray Bindiya Goswami's character in the original, was obstinate about not going ahead with the project anymore. A source clarified that while Rohit has had to return to cast another actress, his losses are not much as the movie has not yet gone on floors.

The source also said that if shooting was in course of action, Rohit Shetty would have to re-shoot with Genelia's substitute, which in turn would have increased the cost of the movie in every manner.At least now, producers Ashtavinayak will not have to put up with a opening in their pocket. It was a good chance for Genelia to opt out before the movie went on floors. When asked why she refused to do the movie, one of the source close to her mentioned that the actress read the script and while reading it she felt that she didn't have a very important character to play in Bol Bachchan. However, a buddy of Genelia came to her justification and rubbished these claims.

Source close to her said that her shooting dates are clashing with Navdeep Singh's movie, featuring Abhay Deol. With Genelia giving up her character in the flick, the film fraternity is already abuzz with assumption about her possible substitute. Abhi to star in Puri’s flick

Even prior to Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap hits theaters, actor Abhishek Bachchan has confirmed that he will star in filmmaker Puri Jagannadh's next film titled Businessman. It is supposed to be an action movie with a number of feather moments and foot-tapping music scores. Not unexpectedly, this Bollywood film too, will be produced by AB Corporation.By now it has been declared that Puri, an former associate of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, was so overwhelmed with Abhishek's performance in Mani Ratnam's Yuva that it gave him the inspiration to approach the big star for his movie.

However back to the news, unavailability of dates couldn’t decide the beginning of the shooting.Rumor has it that late in 2010, Puri Jagannadh again approached Abhishek Bachchan. But he was engaged with Abbas-Mustan's Players and Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies And Gentleman, and so production was put on hold. In the meantime, Puri came up with the script of Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. As everything fell into right place, the movie that stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role is now scheduled to release on July 1, 2011 and Businessman with Abhishek is scheduled to start soon in 2012.

When asked about it, Abhishek Bachchan mentioned that Puri is a brilliant filmmaker and he's come up with yet another excellent subject for nobody can say no. The cator couldn't work with him earlier because of his hectic schedules but Abhishek at the same time is honoured with the way Puri has directed BHTB with his father, Big B. Abhishek concluded saying that they have watched the kind of work Puri Jagannadh has done earlier with Pokhiri which was later made with the name wanted starring Salman Khan. Few days back, it was learnt that Aishswarya started shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’.

First it was said that Abhishek gonna act opposite Aishwarya Rai but this news is not at all true. Apart from this, both the couple will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Ladies And Gentlemen’ which is a romantic comedy. Currently the film is still in its pre-production phase. “I am very excited because ‘Ladies And Gentlemen’ has a fantastic script. Though we have not yet started working on the film. But it is going to be very funny and hopefully the audience will laugh a lot,” says Abhishek.

Abhi-Aish to be absent at IIFA Awards this year

The latest news is spreading all around that the Bachchan parivaar are mending with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), and that Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai would execute at the occasion in Toronto too. But it seems like Abhishek Bachchan has smashed the gossip. Just to make it clear, Abhishek tweeted that neither Aishwarya nor he will be performing or attending IIFA Toronto.


The superstar Amitabh Bachchan had been the brand ambassador of the IIFA awards since their commencement in the year 2000, but in 2010, Amitabh couldn't make it to the event in Sri Lanka, and the idea of a brand ambassador itself was turned down. Amitabh Bachchan had previously clarified that he would not be attending the event. He said that his services are not required at the IIFA. The IIFA weekend is to be held from June 23 to June 25. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan had an hideous quarrel at a party few days back. Annoyed Aishwarya walked out of the bash immediately and waited in her car till Abhishek came. Abhishek Bachchan was so busy chatting with Priyanka Chopra that he didn’t even looked around that Aishwarya was not present at the party.

When Abhishek Bachchan kept her waiting for too long, sitting alone in the car, angry actress had no other way out but she had to return back and jogged his memory again that they had to reach hoe in time. As rumors have it, Abhishek and Piggy Chops have been tagged as best friends over the years as she has shared screen space with him in Bluffmaster, Dostana, etc. Another interesting thing to be noticed at the party was that Piggy Chops avoided her ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor leaving him unnoticed.

Abhishek's Players to clash with Don 2

Now 2011 will feature the conflict of a lot of big banner movies at the box office. All thanks to the same release dates. It has been heard that actor Shahrukh Khan's forthcoming release Don 2 is going to be a Christmas release as well as Abhishek’s Players directed by Abbas Mustan will also follow the same path. Farhan Akhtar's Don 2, a sequel of Don is a complete action movie, and Players too fit in to the action thriller genre.

Accordingly it has been heard that Don 2 is already getting popular and with the prequel being a super hit, the possibility of Don 2 becoming a superhit is on the upbeat. If this happens than other releases of the year will face average to poor collections. Don 2 will also feature Priyanka Chopra and Shahrukh Khan as the main characters while Players have Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh,

all of whom to a great extent need a hit to raise their career graph. We speculate if releasing Players alongwith Don 2 will be a good decision. Let's see who’s gonna celebrate Christmas this year with victory. Will it be Shahrukh or the dashing Abhishek Bachchan. Well, you have to wait until Christmas to hear the final verdict!!

Abhi annoyed with Piggy Chops

It sounds as if, Piggy Chops has also been spreadin the news all around people that Abhishek Bachchan regards her his favourite co-actress in the entire film fraternity. But do you think can this be true? It’s a known fact that Abhishek has always mentioned in his interviews that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is his favorite choice ever. All they shared at Karan’s Birthday party was a ciao and not a cuddle as rumoured all around.

Abhishek Bachchan though is very friendly but he doesn’t have any likeness for Priyanka Chopra and was shocked as from where these gossips were rising. It was also rumoured that Abhishek and Priyanka’s relationship had turned sour since a long time but all the grudges have resolved now. The on-screen jodi was last seen in Dostana. The forthcoming Bollywood film Bol Bachchan, that will feature Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role is said to be directed by Rohit Shetty who had earlier directed hit comedy film Golmaal,

which was a mark of respect to the 1979 release Golmaal that featured Amol Palekar in the main role and was directedby Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The new version will also feature Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. Some of the sequences of Bol Bachchan will be shot in India, New Zealand and Russia. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters tentatively on Diwali.

Abhishek annoys SRK

Soon after Mumbai Indians lashed out Kolkata Knight Riders in a effervescent eliminator at Wankhede on Wednesday. In the interim, alongwith actor and owner for Kolkata Knight Riders Shahrukh Khan and his friends tried to get into the rejoicing mood to bring in Karan Johar's 39th birthday. But things turned worst when Abhishek Bachchan stepped into the party in a Mumbai Indians team jersey attire. Abhishek Bachchan reached the place approximately 1pm in the morning, just after Harbhajan Singh hit the most memorable six.

You guessed it right.. Abhishek was in the limelight. After all, it was very surprising to look at someone walking into Shahrukh's residence in a Mumbai Indians team jersey, when he couldn’t resist getting knocked out of the IPL for the fourth time. Shahrukh Khan, considered to be a possesive person, had even missed the match. Preity Zinta, Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Zarina Mehta, Ronnie Screwvalla, Mehr Jessia, Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, Hrithik Roshan and his wife Sussanne Roshan were also invited at the grand party.

Not just that, Abhishek also lifted up his eyebrows when he greeted Rani Mukerjee and Priyanka Chopra. One should not forget that difficulties began between Abhishek and Piggy Chops, after she won the Best Actress Award for Madhur Bhandarkar’s directed movie Fashion. The actor's mother, Jaya Bachchan, had then announced that her bahu Aishwarya should have been the owner of the title for her performance in Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar.

The Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee’s jhagda started when Abhishek got married to Aishwarya Rai. The successful on-screen couple Rani and Abhishek who were seen in Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli,etc were also linked in close relationship by the reporers and it was assumed that the duo will marry soon. Few days back, as stated Abhishek expanded the olive branch by calling Rani. The communication between them at the party just confirmed that all isss well!!
