Refugee


Refugee is a Bollywood film directed by J. P. Dutta,a refined directors of the bollywood industry. The movie was released on 30 June 2000. The film starred the debut of Abhishek Bachchan, son of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor part of the famous Kapoor family. The film performed well at the box office and was the fifth highest grossing film of that year.


Plot:


Refugee is all about the actions of a man who has no name or identity but is simply known as Refugee, the role that Abhishek Bachchan portrayed. The man helps muslim refugees to cross the border illegally but this is soon put under watch by the authorities who find out that some illegal activities are taking place in the area.

In the other part of the film the man falls in love with Naaz (Kareena Kapoor) whose family also wants to cross the border. The girl also falls in love with him. The Pakistani Border Officer Mohammad Ashraf, whose role is portrayed by Sunil Shetty is also in love with the same girl. It's a triangular love story.

The other cast of the film are Shadaab Khan, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Reena Roy, Mukesh Tiwari, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sudesh Berry, Avtar Gill, Vrajesh Hirjee, Puneet Issar, Anupam Kher, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Geetawali Rajkumari.

If we talk about the songs of the film Javed Akhtar has beautifully written each and every lyrics for every song. The music was liked by all and the film got two National Film Awards; one for Best Music Direction and the other for Best Lyrics (Panchi Nadiya)

Abhishek Bachchan acclaimed fame by giving a great performance in the film and from here only Abhishek started his career.
