Abhishek in a Slim-Avtaar

Sarkar RajImage via Wikipedia

Abhishek Bachchan had already lost 15 kg for Mani Ratnam’s Ravana
co-starring Aishwairya, her beloved wife. He lost some more nearly 3
Kgs and went down to a trim 75-76 kg.

Thanks to the phenomenal results that his hard-work at gym had paid
off, now he is looking like a younger, fresher version of himself
these days.

What's secret behind this Slim-Avtaar?

The star has followed a cardio-weights combination, aiming not for a
six-pack or eight-pack, but a lean, athletic physique.

The actor, who received the Best Brand Ambassador Award in Delhi
recently, explained, “The weight I had gained for Guru and Sarkar Raj
stayed on me in Drona and Dostana. But then, Mani sir wanted me to
look lean for Ravana. So, here I am, looking as he wanted.”

He had put some great amount of hard-work and rigorous training, doing
two hours of gymming every day. “It’s a cardio-intensive programme,
with a lot of triomatic activities and some weights, too,” said
Abhishek.

What he wants now is to maintain the body rather than losing more.

Wife Aishwarya helped him stick to his diet and his Dostana co-star
John also gave him some weight-loss and workout tips. But Abhishek
does have a sweet tooth and he won’t be denied his dessert. He can't
spare his favourite éclairs and M&M candies — but compensates for it
with “an hour extra” at the gym.

Does it helps to have a wife who maintains her own slender frame. Says
a proud husband Abhishek. “She is very disciplined and has always been
thin.”

Abhishek's Drona – 'Superhero' attempt was intolerable !!!

 Drona

Abhishek played Super hero role in Drona in 2008. After Hrithik in Krish, it was a new challenge for Abhishek to live up the expectations of his fans to repeat the same success story that Hrithik did in Krish .

The content of the film was kept under wraps but it came out as an out-and-out superhero flick and all efforts were being made to outdo Hrithik Roshan's Krrish.

Goldie Behl produced and directed the film. Other stars of this movie were Priyanka Chopra, Jaya Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon. Priyanka Chopra played Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard in Drona.

Director Goldie Bhel may be one of the best friends of Abhishek but his friendship has not done any good for Dr. Bachchan as far as professional relationship is concerned. First he made a flop film like Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai with Abhishek and to worsen things more they yet again have come up with a dud flick like Drona.

As every other superhero flick, Drona's story too deals with the fight between the good and the evil where Abhishek plays the super hero Drona, a savior of the world, and Kay Kay portrayed the character of the evil who wants to kill Drona in order to have his control over the whole world. In this otherwise boring flick, Priyanka Chopra's sensuality brought some relief. God knows, what in the world inspired Goldie to make a high budgeted movie like Drona.

 Drona

The script also hasn't supported the poorly directed flick and even the characters were poorly sketched. Kay Kay's character is more clownish than devilish. Same goes with the main character of Drona. His strengths and power are not dealt with in detail which is so very important for a superhero flick.

Coming to the songs, they had no significance in the movie, and were unbearable.

The only thing that stands out in Drona is the brilliant special effects, which are way ahead of Bollywood standards.

Performance wise too none of the actors have delivered in compared to their caliber. It can be rated as one of the worst flick Kay Kay has ever done. With his tummy, Mr. Abhishek doesn't at all fit into the costume of a superhero. Again it's only Priyanka who stands out of them all and that too only due to her sensuality and glamorous look. Jaya Bachchan has a very small role.

Overall, Drona could easily be placed a notch or two below some of the worst movies of Abhishek's career.
