Aish’s magic is still alive

Sizzling actress Katrina Kaif may be the cherry on the cake these days with her sensual item number ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ being played in every discotheque but if we talk of the actress then the Barbie Doll of Bollywood has still a lot of catching to do to match with the mantle of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Aishwarya Rai
In an online survey, Aishwarya Rai has been voted as the Best Actress of 2010 for her amazing performance in the film ‘Guzaarish.’ Even though the movie didn’t make a mark at the box office, the performances were hailed by the critics and certainly Bachchan bahu looked sublime in her role of Sophia. Aishwarya Rai plays a nurse in the flick who is the walking stick of wheelchair bound quadriplegic patient Hrithik Roshan. So, for the moment it’s advantage Aishwarya Rai. You can move over the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. The veteran Aish is here to stay more and more !!!!

Race 2 – Abhishek in, Saif out ?

The latest buzz of Bollywood is that the shoot of the movie Race 2 will begin soon. But what is surprising is that according to the sources, Saif Ali Khan will not be there in this sequel. It has been said that Saif has walked out of this movie because of his tight and busy schedule.

Abhishek Bachchan
So who is the lucky one to replace chote nawab? Well he is another nawab, I mean junior Bachchan, i.e. Abhishek Bachchan. Yes, if sources have to be believed then Abhishek Bachchan will be replacing Saif Ali Khan in Race 2. The star cast of Race included Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif while the sequel Race 2 will have Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and John Abraham . Ramesh Taurani is the producer for Race 2 and the movie will be directed by Abbas Mustan.

As far as Saif Ali Khan’s busy schedule is concerned, well the actor is busy with his home production movie, ‘Agent Vinod. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan is presently busy with Abbas Mustan’s ‘Italian Job’ remake film.

Now a days , every one is afraid of Abhishek Bachchan, he can chop anyones career. Miss World Priyanka Chopra was doing project with Abhishek's friend Rohan Shippy, an Italian project.

Abhishek Bachchan-The Bluffmaster

Director Rohan Sippy takes the plot by the scruff of its neck, and within 10-15 minutes, the story is ready to zoom. Don’t expect a laugh riot from this movie. However, it does entertain. The movie begins with a film producer (Tinu Anand) taking an anonymous call on someone’s lost mobile he found lying on the road. Meet Roy (Abhishek Bachchan), a street-savvy bluffmaster who knows many a trick in the con game. The only thing he doesn’t bluff is his romance for Simi (Priyanka Chopra).

Roy teaches Dittu the tricks of the game and the two manage to dupe Chandru of crores. ‘Bluffmaster’ begins excellently. The very first sequence sets the movie’s pace. But the story derails whenever the movie goes onto the romantic track involving the lovesick bluffmaster repeatedly approaching his ladylove.

Abhishek’s character in the movie should have been better brought out. Roy is a somber bluffmaster who reacts with repulsion to the comedy going around him. Add to it Abhishek’s own serenity that lends a further serious look to the character. Ideally, Abhishek is not suited to this role.

But it is Nana Patekar who pales everyone with his lively and funny act. He plays an Hotelier who keeps secretaries for more reasons than just typing. The best part about Nana’s performance is the way he delivers his lines. His dialogues, particularly in the pre-climax sequence, are extremely hilarious.

Boman Irani, too, acquits himself well. His humour is lighthearted. Priyanka Chopra enacts her part well, but her character has little direct significance to the story except the fact that she happens to be Abhi’s ladylove.

In a nutshell, Rohan Sippy offers a mixed package in ‘Bluffmaster’. The movie’s plot doesn’t move in a straight line. It swings between romance and comedy. Thankfully, the songs in the film are not a hindrance to its pace. Only two bluffs in the movie are intelligently conceived. The first one comes at the beginning, the other at the very end.

No two thoughts, it's enough to see ‘Bluffmaster’ once.

Abhishek's Drona – 'Superhero' attempt was intolerable !!!

 Drona

Abhishek played Super hero role in Drona in 2008. After Hrithik in Krish, it was a new challenge for Abhishek to live up the expectations of his fans to repeat the same success story that Hrithik did in Krish .

The content of the film was kept under wraps but it came out as an out-and-out superhero flick and all efforts were being made to outdo Hrithik Roshan's Krrish.

Goldie Behl produced and directed the film. Other stars of this movie were Priyanka Chopra, Jaya Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon. Priyanka Chopra played Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard in Drona.

Director Goldie Bhel may be one of the best friends of Abhishek but his friendship has not done any good for Dr. Bachchan as far as professional relationship is concerned. First he made a flop film like Bus Itna Sa Khwab Hai with Abhishek and to worsen things more they yet again have come up with a dud flick like Drona.

As every other superhero flick, Drona's story too deals with the fight between the good and the evil where Abhishek plays the super hero Drona, a savior of the world, and Kay Kay portrayed the character of the evil who wants to kill Drona in order to have his control over the whole world. In this otherwise boring flick, Priyanka Chopra's sensuality brought some relief. God knows, what in the world inspired Goldie to make a high budgeted movie like Drona.

 Drona

The script also hasn't supported the poorly directed flick and even the characters were poorly sketched. Kay Kay's character is more clownish than devilish. Same goes with the main character of Drona. His strengths and power are not dealt with in detail which is so very important for a superhero flick.

Coming to the songs, they had no significance in the movie, and were unbearable.

The only thing that stands out in Drona is the brilliant special effects, which are way ahead of Bollywood standards.

Performance wise too none of the actors have delivered in compared to their caliber. It can be rated as one of the worst flick Kay Kay has ever done. With his tummy, Mr. Abhishek doesn't at all fit into the costume of a superhero. Again it's only Priyanka who stands out of them all and that too only due to her sensuality and glamorous look. Jaya Bachchan has a very small role.

Overall, Drona could easily be placed a notch or two below some of the worst movies of Abhishek's career.
