In Dutch consumer electronics company Philips' new commercial for its male grooming Katrina Kai, actor John Abraham's clones wrap their faces in different varieties of facial hair. In Idea Cellular's advertisements for its 3G services, Abhishek Bachchan appears in three roles, one for a generation of mobile technology, perhaps. Indian viewers, long used to their favourite film stars in double roles or triple roles, are now getting the same treatment from advertisers.
Yet othe other side, consumers are being watching that with clones of brand ambassadors in one campaign. Whether it's Priyanka Chopra for Samsung, Abhishek Bachchan for Idea or John Abraham for Yamaha and Philips, it seems one character is just not good enough. Brand expert Harish Bijoor calls it an effort to editorialize advertising. Using one celebrity over different innoviative has a value than doing the tried and tested. It is able to strike a deeper emotional connect with the new-age consumer.

Advertising filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar says it reflects the need for brands to reach out to diverse facets of the consumer. "These ads say that you can choose how you want to interact with the product. For instance, someone could be gay, straight, metro sexual or anything else. Point is that there are different interpretations shown by using the same character," he says. And it's working. Samsung, Philips and Yamaha say the commercials boosted their sales.Philips says its male grooming kit has been flying off the shelves since the 'Who U Gonna Be Today' television ad was first aired.

Abhi-John to work together

Since the fortune of Dostana's second version is still wobbly, the lead jodi Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham has decided to stop waiting for it and move ahead to other assignments. If all the things fall on the right place they will come together in the sequel of Kaante along with actor Arjun Rampal and Bobby Deol.A source disclose the whole matter mentioning that Abhishek and John's great chemistry in Dostana made them studded with a lot of fans. Both Bollywood heartthrobs are very fond of each other. They were looking forward to work again in the second series of the movie and as a result didn't sign any other films.

But since Dostana 2 isn't most likely happening, they have decided to accomplish their other jobs. Both John and Abhishek keenly desired to do another contract and Kaante 2 fitted the bill flawlessly. They have heard the content of the film and given their nod but the official declaration is yet to be made. The source added further that this project as learnt will be directed by a Hollywood filmmaker Chuck Russel who directed films like Mask and The Scorpion King and will be shot in South Africa.

Producer Shabbir Boxwala clarified by saying that the movie is in a very rough phase at the moment. And that they are looking forward to put it together. About casting Shabbir do mentioned that they have not approached Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. Arjun and Bobby are his close buddies, so he had a normal discussion with them regarding the film. But on the official front nobody has been approached as yet. So guys, we have to wait to see the crispy pairing of John and Abhishek in Kaante 2 until the matter settles down.

Abhi’s bonding with John

If you someday come to know that the handsome dude John Abraham is in a mood to patch-up with his ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu, then here’s some more masala for you. As speculated, John has also got a very tolerant listener in the famous star Abhishek Bachchan. Sources mention that John and Abhishek have been getting close a lot and this broadens further than the normal voice-over meetings or the production conferences of their forthcoming movie. It is also hear that recently Abhishek and John have been discussing lot of things about off screen matters too. So are they exchanging views on relationship guidance??? A big question to answer.

According to the sources, it has been disclosed that Abhishek Bachchan and John will respectively start getting chatty about relationship. Prior the break-up, John has found an ultimate pal in Abhishek who keenly listens to him and discuss various things, but we aren’t sure that exactly what they keep on discussing. Both actors will share the screen space in the sequel of Dostana. So, producer of the flick Karan Johar has asked them to connect well, so that their chemistry again fills energy on screen. 2010 witnessed the break-up of Bips, John eight years long relationship, but this time around it has been heard that this parted couple are again trying to revive their relationship. While, John is avoiding media since a long time,Abhishek on the other side is not ready to reveal anything as their film is going on floors soon.We hope that Dostana 2 also becomes as entertaining as Dostana created waves at the box office.

Abhi-John can’t get over their love

So for the day we had actor John Abraham who celebrated his birthday on December 17. According to the searched news it has been revealed that actress Bipasha Basu , with no question of doubt showered a grand bash for her boyfriend John.


However, what comes up surprisingly is that between the cake and balloons, there was a love act between Abhishek Bachchan and birthday boy, John, remember them in Dostana!! Abhishek also asserted that they just can’t get over their love for each other and complement each other superbly, one has the body and other one is the attitude boy.. And you know what Abhi calls John a ‘jiggerypoo’. We hope that Bipasha won’t mind this…. Game, Players and Dum Maaro Dum will showcase Abhishek Bachchan.

Abhishek or John, who will be in Meghna's next?

Handsome hunks of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham made their magical presence in the movie 'Dostana' together. Now, the actors are being considered for Meghna Gulzar's forthcoming movie 'Milte Hain'. Well, the twist in the story is that, the Director wants to cast Abhishek in the lead role while producer Sanjay Gupta is keen for John Abraham.

Sources says that, hot diva of Bollywood, Vidya Balan is going to play the female lead in the movie. She was seen with 'Abhishek' in the movie 'Paa' before, the stars have good onscreen tunning. So, Abhishek was being made an offer to play the male lead by Vidya and Meghna both. Though the decision has not been taken yet that who is going to win the crown, either Abhishek or John?

It is worthwhile mentioning here that, Jaya Bachchan(Abhishek's mother) calls Gulzaar sahab( Meghna's father) her bhaai and Abhishek regards Meghna as her sister.So he cannot say 'No' to her. Abhi is ready for Dostana 2

There is a rumor surrounded Dostana sequel, weather it is Kartina Kaif or the Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham onscreen Dostana jodi. But there is news that actor Abhishek Bachchan was apprehensive to reprise his role in the movie Dostana 2.

Because Abhishek is cannot make it out how the film could be funny and entertaining as original. Tarun Mansukhani assured Abhishek that it will good script and it will surely entertain audience. But now everything is fine, Abhi is happy with the script and hoping Dostana 2 will also get success like the original Dostana.

Abhi is excited for Dhoom 3

After getting success in Dhoom and Dhoom 2, now director and scriptwriter has decided to start working on Dhoom 3. It has already been scripted now. Abhishek Bachchan said he met with Uday Chopra because it is franchise work, so its quite important to discuss with him.


Abhishek and Uday Chopra are again going to do, cop role, while in the first Dhoom John Abraham starred in the negative role, and in Dhoom , Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai had played thief role, both the movies was directed by the same director Sajay Gadhvi.

And the third sequence of Dhoom 3 is also being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi in the year 2012. Currently, Abhishek Bachchan is busy with Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie ‘Ravaan’.

Farhan refuses to share screen with Abhishek

The Indian filmmaker, script writer, actor, the all rounder Farhan Akhtar refuses to share screen space with his childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan. The latest buzz is that Farhan has walked out of Rohan Sippy’s project.

Rohan Sippy has been decided that the film is to be made on three actors Abhishek Bachchan, Pratik Babbar and Farhan Akhtar but as Farhan opted out, Rohan has again started his search for the third lead actor.

Although, Farhan Akhtar was the first choice to play Abhishek's co-star. Abhishek Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar had to portray the same role which was based on Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor films that Javed Akhtar once wrote.

Rohan Sippy's hunt for the new actor ended with John Abraham with whom Abhishek Bachchan had starred in Dostana and Dhoom. Let's see whether their Dostana will work or Rohan has to find a new face again...

Abhishek Bachchan feeling Gay

Abhishek Bachchan felt very gay as accepted the best comic actor for his performance in Dostana at the Idea International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards. He dedicated the award to wife Aishwarya Rai and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

"I dedicate this award to two people; Amar Singhji, who is in the hospital, and my wife Ash. I promise I will only love you (Ash). I am a heterosexual, but today I am feeling very gay," Abhishek said in his acceptance speech here.

Amar Singh, a close family friend for the Bachchans, is in a Singapore hospital reportedly for kidney problems. In Tarun Mansukhani's comedy Dostana, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham played friends pretending to be a gay couple to secure rental accomodation in Miami. The film was a huge box-office.

Abhishek, who started crying when his name was announced, said that it was his dream to do comedy like his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, did in Amar Akbar Anthony.

"I used to watch my father in mind-blowing scenes in Amar Akbar Anthony and used to say I want to be like that man. And here I am today. I would like to thank ma and pa for giving birth to me because I am here because of them. I would like to thank Ash's mummy and papa for giving birth to her."

Dostana Sequel very probable

'I don't think Abhishek can live without me'...we might think that Ash must have said so about her beloved hubby. Nah nah...friends! John Abraham has uttered these words for his dost and co-star of Dostana Abhishek Bachchan.

Believable it is, after we saw Dostana and the two bagged Filmfare Best Jodi Award too at 54th Filmfare Awards.

Dostana seemed to have worked for John Abraham in more ways than one and the two wanna carry it forward. Now, there's talk of a sequel, and if things work out well soon Dostana will see a sequel of it titled Dostana 2 coming up?

Tarun Mansuhkani, (director) is thinking of making it. So that is creating a lot of excitement already. The question is how will the story be moved forward in the sequel? Everyone at Dharma Productions has his own version of how to take the story forward and that is not yet revealed but one thing is for sure...Abhi_John rocks together!!!

Abhishek Bachchan is happy in being a gay icon

While other conformist minded stars might fidget at the thought, Abhishek takes it as a compliment when he is described as an icon of the gay community. Gays adore him, more so after his film Dostana in which he played a straight guy make up as gay. Speaking to a news agency, Abhishek says he’s neither surprised nor shocked at being called a gay icon.

"I'm very happy with that. Why should I be surprised or shocked? I think homosexuals are as human as anyone else. It's a matter of great pride if I'm their icon," Abhishek is quoted by IANS. Abhishek even denied the reports that his father Amitabh Bachchan did not like his role in ‘Dostana’.




"Why should he take offence? Not at all! The film is not about homosexuality. 'Dostana' isn't 'Brokeback Mountain'. It was just a comedy. My whole family has thoroughly enjoyed it. Who doesn't enjoy a good laugh? It's a normal fun film. Aishwarya (Rai) is very happy it's a big hit,” Abhishek is quoted.

The actor said he had to work hard for his role in the film. "In 'Dostana', I had to work very hard to portray a straight man acting gay. It could easily have gone overboard. I wanted to avoid making the character caricatural. Barring one portion (the flashback about how John Abraham met Abhishek), we kept it controlled."

Abhishek is presently busy with Mani Ratnam’s next film with Aishwarya Rai.
