Box Office failure of Raavan disturbed Abhishek

Abhishek Bachchan who is known for his jolly and prankish behavior reveals that he turned into a recluse post the box office result of the movie 'Raavan' directed by Mani Ratnam. Tabloids missed him at social events and parties which he is known to frequent to.

Sources close to the actor say that the failure of the movie Raavan left him devasted and he avoided social gatherings and kept himself busy in other projects of his. The actor during his interview with a popular tabloid said that it is upsets you to see something not flourish and liked especially when you've put a considerable amount of time and effort. Abhsihek further added that he respected the audiences' judgment but it is the Press that keeps throwing actor's failures at their faces even after six months.

When asked about the time after Raavan, Abhishek said that he just had to move on or in his exact words, 'get back on the saddle and keep riding'. On being asked about his quotient with Karan Johar and for not taking him (Abhishek) in the remake of his father's epic movie, Agneepath, the actor replies that he has no qualms about it and he trusts Karan Johar and his decisions while making a movie.

Talking about his forthcoming projects, Abhishek Bachchan will be seen in the movie titled 'Kheleinge Hum Jee Jaan Sey' directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar who has given Indian film Industry some great movies like Lagaan, Swadesh and Jodha Akbar.

Abhi- Aish not to attend screening of Raavan at Venice Film Festival

The earlier reports said that the Bollywood release Raavan by the filmmaker Mani Ratnam will be screened at the prestigious and respectful 67th Venice Film Festival. It was also said that the hot couple of Aishwarya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will mark their presence over there.

But the recent reports state that both of them would not be able to attend this event.
The reason behind why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will not be able to attend the screening of their movie Raavan is that they have prior promises to their brand endorsements and the stars have to fulfill them. As far as the festival is concerned, it will begin on September 1, 2010 and it will showcase the Tamil and Hindi versions of the film Ravanan and Raavan.

A source close to the matter said that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are unable to attend this Venice Film Festival because their earlier commitments clash with the same dates as the festival. Aishwarya is the brand ambassador of Longines and Abhishek Bachchan is for Omega.

Abhishek and Hrithik are “NOT-SO-BUSY”

Well, I think we have not heard about Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan since a long time. the latest buzz is that these two Bollywood's hottest hunks are kind of having a free time these days. The reason behind is simple. They do not have much to do. After the box office report of Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan is just sitting back at home and is enjoying the television promos of new movies.


Similarly, Hrithik Roshan is a little disturbed since the release of Kites because the movie could not do the way it was expected. According to the industry sources, the two superstars, that is, Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan have lost their price value and have not got any important project these days.

Abhishek realizes the truth

Raavan will premiere on Colors

National television channel Colors, is set to premiere Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer in Raavan on 1 August 2010 in India, US and UK The movie will be aired on 8pm on Sunday in the three countries. The movie was released on 18 June 2010. The music, cinematography was awesome but it failed to do magic on box office.

Abhishek Bachchan bagged the best anchor

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan Raavan may have failed on the box office, but Abhishek Bachchan has managed his mark on the small screen by winning best anchor award hosting the game show on Color channel.

He was bagged the best anchor (Male) for his debut on television as a host of National Bingo Night at the New Talent Awards event. Abhishek has received awards by Ashwini Yardi, programming head of Colors at the event in Mumbai. The award function will on Saturday on the Colors Channel.

Abhishek is on Radio Mirchi

He said in the movie Ravaan he is playing character of Beera Munda, who is a villager and given nickname Beera by the villagers. Beera is an Indian mythology character. The movie is directed by Mani Ratnam, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram Kennedy, Govinda, Ravi Kishan and Priya Mani, music is composed by AR Rahman.

Abhishek is not acting in Tamil version of Raavan

There is a leading magazine spreading facts that about Silambarasan dubbing in the Tamil version of Mani Ratam’s upcoming movie Raavan. Some media channels are not aware about this, that Abhishek Bachchan is not doing Tamil version of Ravaan. Because Abhishek is having problem with the language.


But director Mani Ratnam wants Abhishek Bachchan to play the role of don in the Tamil version. But, Abhishek felt that he won’t be able to do justice with the role, because he can’t speak Tamil and not able to understand also.

Her wife Aishwarya Rai, is doing both the version of the movie.

Abhishek risks his life in Raavan

It is not rare that any actor has doing stunts, on there life risk. This has happened with Abhishek Bahchcan, while shooting for the movie Abhishek Bachchan has taken major risk to do stunt for his upcoming movie Ravaan directed by Mani Ratam. Abhishek has jumped down 90 feet, straight into a river for a scene in the move Ravaan.

Everyone has advised Abhishek not to do this stunt but he has done without any fear. It was very risky stunt but Abhishek has proven himself, he has shown his talent.

Abhishek said that there were four –five local boys who jump off the cliff for money. So he told to Mani Ratam, why can’t he try this stunt. Abhishek has given a professional training for this risky stunt.

He says that Ravaan is one of the most challenging movie, he has ever done his acting career. It is not about to go in difficult location but to do different role with risky stunts. But at the end of the day, it give satisfaction what he has done is worthy.

This is third movie with Mani Ratnam, and Abhishek is excited to complete this movie.

Abhi's Raavan songs are leak-proof

A R Rahman has said that the song Kaadhale…,in Mani Ratnam's film Raavan that stars strong and towering personality Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This song is making waves in the internet that also claims that it is one of the numbers composed by Rahman is not from the film.




Rahman denied the news by saying, "Someone is pulling a fast one. There is no such song in the film." Priyamani is also playing a pivotal role and is happy about working under the director.

Abhishek's upcoming flick Paa is directed by R Balakrishnan starring Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Vidya Balan. The film is a remake of an American movie. Raavan is set to release in 2010 and it also stars Vikram and Govinda.

Raavan in last shoot schedule now

On August 27, Mani Ratnam's epic film shall enter into its last shooting stint. The bilingual drama shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil with music by A.R. Rahman, the Hindi version of Raavan stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Govinda and Nikhil Dwivedi.




This will happen in a place near Mahabaleshwar which would last for 40 days. Every scene is shot twice with a change in actors taking place as well. You have to factor this as well before jumping to conclusions around the film being over shot.

Total shooting days for the film would read 110-115 days. For a movie of this scale, budget, canvas and subject, it is but natural to have an extended shooting schedule. Moreover, there is a lot of outdoors required in the film as well that includes rock climbing and some rough terrain.

Since this is the last shooting schedule for the film, Raavan would get into post production soon after the wrap is announced in early October. The entire post production is going to be an intense exercise as well.

The film is expected for an April/May 2010 release.

Abhishek-Ashwairya Dates Issues

It seems to be the season of health-based adjustments for Bollywood's
first-couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan.




First, an important schedule of Mani Ratnam's Raavan got postponed
because of the director's health scare. The last schedule is now
happeing in Kerala now.

And now the thriller tentatively titled Crooked, which Abhishek and
Aishwarya were supposed to start this summer, has been pushed to the
end of the year, again for health reasons.

Director Abhinay Deo was supposed to start Crooked immediately after
his directorial debut. However Abhinay who's just wrapped up Delhi
Belly for producer Aamir Khan has a seriousness illness in his family.
Deo's wife has fallen ill, and the director suddenly needed to take
time off to be with her thereby, throwing the entire Crooked schedule
off course.




The project could've gone for a toss considering how busy the lead
pair is and also considering the fact those huge amounts of date
adjustment would already be required for Mani Ratnam's film. The other
choice was for producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani to replace
the director. However showing rare and heartwarming solidarity the
producers and the lead pair decided to wait for the director to be
emotionally capable of shooting the film.

Hence, Abhishek and Aishwarya have readjusted their dates. The shoot
will now in Greece, Istanbul and Thailand at year-end.

Incidentally the film won't be finally called Crooked. It will be
given a Hindi Title that director Anurag Kashyap will suggest.

Mani Ratnam not happy with Abhishek's performance

Some portions of Mani Ratnam's flick Raavan are being re-shot as the filmmaker is not happy with the rushes. Mani Ratnam is not happy with Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in the film, compared to Southern superstar Vikram, who seems to be stealing Abhishek’s thunder with his fine performance.

Since he is not the central character, Mani Ratnam thinks he will over-shadow Abhishek, who is the hero of the film and so he wants to re-shoot some scenes just to make sure Abhishek is not over looked.

As for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she will have a dance choreographed by internationally renowned dancer Astad Deboo. The actress is also an old hand when it comes to her association with Mani Ratnam, with whom she did her first film Iruvar.

Raavan also stars Govinda, and the film is also being made in Tamil as Ashokavanam with a different cast. The film Raavan is only a reference point and Mani Ratnam does not want to court controversy by suggesting that Sita falls in love with Raavan. The film is set for released in early 2010.

Abhi will wrap up Raavan shoot soon

Mani Ratnam is planning to shoot the climax of his mega film Raavan in his favourite Chalakudy forest locations from July 16.

The news doing rounds in the tinsel town is that the bollywood hot-shots who are doing this tri-lingual in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu mainly Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Aishwarya Rai have told the director that they have already given him over 100 days, and they cannot spare any further dates.

Mani and his friend-cum-colleague cameraman Santosh Sivan is planning to shoot the climax for the next 45 days in Chalakudy and Mysore forest areas. They have to shoot deep inside forest areas, for which permissions have to be granted by the respective state governments.

Added to that a few helicopter scenes inside forest areas have to be shot, for which special permission have to be obtained.

Let us hope that Mani is successful in his mission to complete Raavan, this time.

The theatres were filled with hooting cat-calls from an ecstatic gathering of NRI girls in USA as Abhishek Bachchan dazzled the screen in the promos of Karan Johar’s flick Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna.
