Abhishek in awe of Vidya Balan

In a recent interview of the co stars of the flick Paa, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan could not stop themselves from praising each other. Though the appreciation was made on professional terms, it hardly sounded like one.

Abhishek who has worked with Vidya previously in the movie Guru says that he was so mesmerized by the actress' performance during a scene in the movie Guru that he forgot his lines !

Vidya Balan too, was all praises for Junior B. and exclaimed that he is a dream co-star.The actress added that every time she looks into his eyes, something unexpected happens which makes it all the more interesting to work with him

Phew ! With so much admiration towards each other,we only hope Aishwaraya takes it well and does not become a typical suspecting wife!

Abhishek is currently working on films like Ravana directed by Mani Ratnam and Ashutosh Gowarikar's "Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se" opposite Deepika Padukone.

Paa offers simple music

The Indian film composer, singer, lyricist Ilayaraja has composed tunes for the film Paa that mingles well with the movie's subject. Director R. Balakrishnan's film features Amitabh Bachchan as Abhishek's son Auro, who suffers from progeria that causes premature ageing. It also stars Vidya Balan as Amitabh Bachchan's mother.

Abhishek with vidya

Paa's album begins with 'Mudhi mudhi ittefaq se' by Shilpa Rao. The album is melodious but not for long period. The song is aired on television channels and has become a hit.

'Mudhi mudhi ittefaq se' has two more versions one is 'Udhi udhi' that is an extension of the original and 'Gali mudhi' that has sung by Shaan. Even in a slower pace the song is equally nice.

Other one is 'Halke se bol', which is a children's song and has a chorus behind the mike. Another situational number that doesn't impress too much is 'Hichki hichki' which is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.

The title song of the flick 'Mere paa' has been sung by Amitabh Bachchan himself. Last but nt the least there is 'Gumm summ gumm' sung by the composer's daughter Bavatharini with ample support from the chorus.

On the whole, Paa offers simple yet delightful music. Enjoy !!!

Paa to release on Nov 14

Director R. Balakrishnan has announced that his new film based on rare disorder Progeria, ‘Paa’, will be released on Nov 14, marking a tribute for the Children's day. This movie has Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles.

Balki is famous for movies like, Cheeni Kum’, win which he had decpicted an unconventional love story between a 30-plus woman and a 60-plus chef, and now in ‘Paa’, he has depicted Britain, which is his favourite.

Big B has been characterized in an entirely different way in ‘Paa’. Fortunately, Abhishek and Vidya Balan too are extremely intelligent actors. Vidya has played such a charming mom. Throughout the film they behave as if Amitji is their son. For Abhishek, this was his chance to get even with his dad," said the director.

Another highlight of Balki's cinema is the music of Ilayaraja.

Even though Balki is worried that Big B's Progeria look has been disclosed, he has revealed that, "Fortunately that's only a part ofhis look. No one came on the set to see how he looks on camera. The makeup person was given a computer-generated picture of Amitji. He improvised a lot on that and added traits from real Progeria
patients." Progeria is an extremely rare genetic disease of childhood characterized by dramatic, premature aging.

Abhishek reveals his look in Paa

Amitabh Bachchan's new look in his upcoming flick Paa has already generated a lot of curiosity, even son Abhishek Bachchan has decided to go for a different look for his character in the film.

From the looks of it, Abhishek plays a politician in the film and has modeled his look on the lines of the famous young politicians Sachin Pilot
and Milind Deora. Abhishek Bachchan dressed in a crisp white kurta-pyjama and sporting a bespectacled look, looks like the quintessential politician.

While some feel that his look bears an uncanny resemblance to the Congress' Rahul Gandhi, Abhishek dismisses all rumours by saying that he has modeled his look and style on Sachin Pilot while his character is based on Milind Deora.

Besides the baap-beta jodi of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, Paa also stars Vidya Balan as the leading lady in the film.

Big B and beta Abhishek shoot in Delhi

The father-son duo has been shooting their film Pa in Delhi. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are in the capital, braving the summer heat since the last few days and shooting director Balki’s film ‘Pa’ in which, quite surprisingly, Amitabh plays Abhishek’s son.
Amitabh Bachchan's character in the film suffers from a condition in which he ages at a faster pace and thus looks much older than his actual age and even older than his father (Abhishek).

Both bollywood actors, along with Vidya Balan , earlier shot a couple of scenes at Rajpath. The scenes had Big B sporting a bald look which was zealously guarded by the film’s crew from the cameras of the onlookers.

The crew also shot in Metro train. They had got prior permission to shoot at the stations and inside the train. Several shots were canned at the Tagore Garden station on the CP-Dwarka route. However, some of the commuters had to wait at the Dwarka Sector 9 Metro station because they were kept out of bounds due to the shoot.

Title: Abhishek finally arrived with GURU!!!

GURU

What can you say about Abhishek Bachchan? Abhishek delivered a knockout performance and easily the best of his career for Guru. Very few could have guessed that Junior B had so much potential in him.
Abhishek lives his character and right from his facial expressions, to his body language to his dialogur delivery everything Abhishek does is conveying something to the audience and adding to the authenticity of his character. Movie became an essential watch out for his climactic speech in the courtroom...hell watch out for him in this
entire film!

Mani Ratnam, the director and co-producer of Guru is an eminent and established name. Mani has always given Indian audiences something to think about. He has his hand on the pulse of India and his films are driven by the beat of patriotism, by strands of hopes, by dreams. When he decided to make Guru, he wanted somebody whose personality could
match the vigour and earnestness of the central lead character Gurukant Desai. Since GURU was about a villager who dared to pursue his dreams despite being told every step of the way that he was extending himself one step too far. In the film Gurukant Desai, has historical resemblance with Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Group of Industries .

Guru was the story of a visionary, a leader, a winner. But despite being fixated upon the life of Gurukant Desai it was also a story about the hopes and aspirations of India. In broad strokes Mani Ratnam examines the role of the media, the nature of corruption and the cure to poverty and more interestingly the clashes between each and this is what makes the film one of the classiest products to come out of the industry in recent years.

Abhishek Bachchan plays Gurukant Desai, an ambitious young villager who dreams of making it big. From a small village in Idhar (Gujrat), Guru heads off to Turkey before deciding to start his own business in
Mumbai. But it's not smooth going and Guru finds many doors closed to him; he finds his dream slowly slipping away in India's bureaucratic wasteland. But he slogs away unperturbed establishing his own company Shakti Trading and climbing the ladder of success at a furious pace. He reaches extraordinary heights with the help of Manik Dasgupta
(Mithun Chakraborty), the owner of the newspaper Swatantra, whom he regards as a father-figure. However, as he rakes in the money he sells out to corruption. Manik, his ally in his rise begins to engineer with his editor Shyam (Mahadevan) Guru's downfall. So begins the seesawing battle. But this is more than a clash of personalities, a battle between right and wrong, because this is nothing straightforward in Mani Ratnam film, so as in life generally.

GURU

Mani Ratnam establishes Guru as a flawed character. A man who is capable of great loyalty and generosity but who is often blinded by his dreams, blinded by an obsession with money. He bribes, lies and deceives his way to the top but in doing so he pulls thousands out of poverty. He bends the rules for his own sake but then were these laws, were these rules legitimate in the first place?

Aishwarya also surprises in the film minus all her natural glamour and she stuns you with the depth she lends her character.Mithun Chakraborty sinks his teeth into his character wholeheartedly. He infuses life into his character and captures his character's emotional struggle with utmost conviction. Madhavan was convincing. Vidya Balan was less so partly due to weak characterisation. The rest of the supporting cast was faultless. . The movie also had Mallika Sherawat
in a guest appearance.

Abhishek Bachchan did very well in playing a complex role and deserves great credit. The movie was well directed and well acted by all the stars and hence the film was a treat to watch. This movie was sure to bring big awards for Abhishek Bachchan and it did.

Music of the film

A.R Rahman's produced a soul-stirring background score which at times overwhelmed not only the audience but the film itself! Also you can't help but wonder what the song 'Ek Lo Ek Muft' adds to the film but Barso Re and Tere Bina are nothing less than classics.

Though Abhishek was not awarded any popular award for the film, Guru, released Jan 12, 2007 grossed approximately Rs.80 crores across the country and was declared a hit at the box-office.

GURU wasn't just a film…it's was a lifetime experience!
